This is where u can find out some tips on how to get sprites and sprite sheets of the web.
FINDING SPRITES
The easyest way to find sprites is to go on goodle (or any search site) and click on the imges search and type in
what ur looking 4 for example if ur looking 4 ninja sprites u could type in ninja sprite sheets or just ninja sprites and
u could find some good ones. If u find an image but when u click on it the sprites dont show up dont sweat it just look on
the site that u where linked to at the bottom of the page and after a bit of looking u should find them. Sometimes even after
looking u cant find them this could be because the person dosent want u to get there sprites so when u click on
the pic i takes u to a totaly different site. unfortunately i cant help u there sorry.
GETTING THEM OFF THE WEB AND ON TO UR PC
Ok once u find them now the hard part starts, getting them on ur pc. The first thing u need is a paint program witch
i think all pc have. Open the program and minimize it( u minimize programs and pages by clicking on the little symbol on the
top left hand corner of the screen). Then highlight the sprite(s) u want and then right click on the highlighted
sprite(s) there should be a copy option that comes up click on that and they should be copyed. Now u have to bring up minimized paint
program by clicking on it at the botton of the screen. Now that u have paint up no ur screen just right click and u should
see the paste option, click that and there u go u just got some cool sprites!!! Unfortunately not all sprites can be obtained
that easly. If when u went to paste the sprites on to paint after copying them and when u right clicked the paste option
was unavailable, u have to work around it. Lucky 4 u i have found a way and its easy! insted of pasting it
on to paint open microsoft word or word perfect and right click. Now u should be able to paste it on there. Then
all u need to do is copy and paste it on to paint and now u can start spriteing. This technique is not good if u are
trying to get a large sprite sheet. If this is the case, there is a technique that works well. K this is what u need
to do when u find the sprite sheet u want instead of copying it just hold ur mouse over the sprite sheet and there should
be some icons that apper at the top left hand corner of the sprite sheet. Now click the icon that looks like a floppy disk.
a save window should open up. At the bottom of the window there should be 2 bars the first to name the file that u wish
to save and the 2 one to pick witch format u wish to save the file under. On the second bar on the right side there should
be a little arrow pointing down. click that and save the file as a .bmp flie. the reason u need to change the format is because
u can use any other files on paint other than .bmp files. If u like this tenchnique u could use it to obtain all ur sprites
and sprite sheets.
